Styles of swimming costumes

Swimming costumes is an item of clothing designed for men’s and women’s who are engaged in water activities such as swimming, water polo, diving, and also sun bathing. These costumes are designed by different styles and types. Some designed for sports and some for casually wearing proposes. These different types of swimming costumes are also wore men, women and children. A swimsuit can b wore for sports activities such as water skiing, surfing and wake boarding. Some swim wear are used to wear for display the bodies as in the case in the case of body building contests.

Today, there is a large range of styles of swimming costumes. The style of swimming costumes depends on the current fashions and demands from peoples. In western countries, the culture of swim wear includes broad shorts, jammers, swim trunks, and g strings etc.

Women’s usually wear bikinis, thongs and one-piece. a new item style of swimming costume is burqini which is used by Muslim women, and today it is very popular in Muslim countries. This style covers the whole body and also head but face is not included. In Egypt, sharia swimsuit is used to wear which covers the full body.

Men swimming costumes:

Men swim suits includes swim briefs, trunks, square leg suits, jammers, and fundoshi. The swim brief is usually made up of wool and used for military style belt at the waist. This type of swimming costume was used in 1930s. A nylon version that is without the belt was launched in 1956 Melbourne Olympics by Speedo.

Trunks are also men swim wear commonly used in US and are made from 100% polyester and nylon fabric. Trunks have been used in US since 1940s. In UK cultures the term trunks are used to describe swim briefs and are very common in adults and teenagers.

Jammer is also a swim wear which is usually worn by athletes look like cycling shorts. Fundoshi is Japanese swimwear that is usually used for swimming purpose.

Women swimming costumes:

Women swimming costumes include one piece, bikini, tankini, monokini and burqini etc. one piece is probably most common swimming  suit that is also called swimming tank made by nylon fabric and is used in US for swimming.

Burqini is also a swim suit which is mostly used by Muslim women. And the trend of this style is very famous now days.

So, the swimming costumes have many styles and these are equally famous in men, women and children for swimming and other sports and athletic purposes.
